The headline says everything you need to know. The loss in Lubbock dropped Kansas State in both polls. Not surprising at all. Just putting it out there. Do with it what you will.
Quick tease: in tomorrow’s Weekly Big 12 Report, I’m writing the lead about Mike. Look for it closely online because we don’t do a good job, for whatever reason, of identifying what it is and playing it up. Word.

Polls are subjective, but 40 points, 17 boards in 27 minutes are facts that cannot be overlooked. When you have three freshman leading the team in scoring and you beat KU and Texas A&M, who are ranked above KSU, where should the Cats be ranked?
Where will the Cats be ranked if they beat Texas too?
We are about where we should be w/ as many losses, really we’re only this high because we have Beasley.
No complaints. We just need two wins this week.
Tech is now 11-1 at home after losing to OU, but A&M…a team KSU pounded…gives OSU its first road win in two years, and is two steps below KSU in conference.
So, naturally, they’re ranked ahead of the Cats.
Sigh.
The only poll that matters is the final one after the tournament. I’d rather be unranked and win the Big 12 or better yet the NCAA Tournament than be highly ranked and not have any tangible results.
Sean Wilson said it best. all the rankings do now is give people something to talk about. The last one is the one that matters.
