Tech’s leading rebounder, Martin Zeno, doesn’t even average five per game. There is balance in the Red Raiders’ offense, but you all know how I feel about balanced scoring - it just means you don’t have a go-to guy. For proof, see Kansas.
I don’t see how Tech beats Kansas State. Now, if the Wildcats beat themselves, as they did in Columbia, that’s another issue. And if K-State paid too much attention to what just happened in Austin and is reveling in being the pace-setter in the Big 12, well, that would be a shame.
But I don’t think that’s the case. Mike Beasley said after the Oklahoma State game he knew how hard it was to win at the United Spirit Arena, which means it’s a challenge for the Wildcats, and I think they respond to challenges. It’s really a matter of motivation. Not in the sense that Frank Martin has K-State ready to play, but more in the sense that if the Wildcats want to come out and dominate, I think this is a game where it’s going to be possible.
We all the Red Raiders run good offense and that won’t change under Pat Knight. But when I doubt, I usually fall back on talent as the tie-breaker. And to be honest, I’m not in doubt. I like the Wildcats - comfortably.
PREDICTION: K-State 74, Texas Tech 59

Why do you jinx us Jmart?!?

I saw that the eagle has Kent starting for this game. Is that official, or speculation? Any last minute info on the status of Gilbert, Sutton or Stew?
Yes - is that speculation that White Tiger is starting? Not that it bothers me as I think White Tiger is the best passer on the team…especially into the post. And when White Tiger gets on….look out.

I don’t think you can make an accurate prediction unless you know who will be playing in the game. And I don’t know who will be starting or who will be coming off the bench. If Gilbert/Stewart/Sutton are all out, this game will be a lot closer than people think.
Hate to say it, but I have a bad feeling about this one… I’m concerned about not having Sutton, i’m concerned about Pullen playing a lot of minutes on the road, i’m concerned with Clent being rusty, I’m concerned that Tech is looking to give the home crowd a reason to show up in that facility the rest of the year… Huge game tonight as far as i’m concerned. I feel if we can get this one, we won’t lose another road game the rest of the year with the exception of possibly KU-which means we are going to at least win a share of the title b/c I don’t see us losing at home to anyone.
We can’t win without all 3 of our former starters. Gilbert and Stew need to play.
My take on the 3 players is that Sutton will sit and rest his knee so that it doesn’t get worse and we have him for the long run. Gilbert will not play and probably not even suite up since his off the court matters haven’t been finalized. Stew will play and play a lot. I predict the lineup to have Stew, Pullen and Young in at the same time a lot. We will force our will upon them like good teams do and win the game. KSU 82 TT 65
