Poll position: No. 22 (Coaches), No. 18 (AP)

Up two in each poll, which has my father incensed. I’m sorry to keep talking about him, but he’s all riled up. Can’t understand why A&M is still ahead of the Wildcats, cursing about it in front of my nephews. God bless him.

I don’t have any other reaction than, “Hey, K-State is still ranked.” In college basketball, rankings do not matter. Thoughts?

IMO, rankings matter because of the exposure. That’s about it though.

I think the loss to Mizzou might end up being the best thing to ever happen to this team.

We’re also ahead of Notre Dame by two spots in the AP poll.

Listen to your father; he’s very wise. As for your nephews, don’t listen word for word, but try to appreciate the context.

J-Mart, I have just named your dad the best K-State Wildcat Fan! He not only is a wise man, he understands the “heart” of the K-State Family. God Bless him!

JMart, you Dad is wise man. At his and my age, who cares if we sound a bit unstable. We’ve earned it.

I’m sure he’ll read all of these comments and be embarrassed. My parents are going to the KU-KSU game. They were supposed to go to a game at Bramlage - the one over Christmas break - but weather was an issue, so we bagged it. But I think they’d enjoy the atmosphere at the Bram. Or the Fred. Or whatever.

I as long as we keep winning the games we’re suppose to we’ll be fine in the rankings. Not that it really matters, but it does give us some much needed exposure, to which I am all for.

As long as the recruits can watch our highlites on ESPN every week, it’ll all good.

Hope your Pops stays purple…maybe you can join us as well after you move on to greener pastures jobwise. ;-)

I get a kick out of hearing about you and your pops. I know sports is like the superglue for my relationship with my dad. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with KU losing last night…does Texas pass KU in the polls? The whole thing is weighted based on program history!

Polls are for the fans. That’s why there’s a tournament at the end of the season. THAT means something.

My dad’s the same way. After every basketball game (and sometimes at half), he’ll call me, ranting and raving about something. The only time I’ve ever gotten him to shut up was when I asked him, “Who was the old man who said KU was too good to get beat this year by K-State?”

(PS-My dad’s spreading the purple around in the Tech area of Texas. Go State!)
