So I just got off the phone with Oklahoma State coach Sean Sutton. My story in tomorrow’s Eagle is going to be about OSU forward Marcus Dove and his attempts to slow Michael Beasley. I got the impression from Sutton that a) Dove will be the primary defender on Beasley, and b) the coach doesn’t seem that concerned about it.
I find that fascinating. I remember telling Mike that Oklahoma was contemplating throwing only Longar Longar at him, and his eyes lit up in anticipation. Dove is a better defender than Longar, but still…
So here’s the fun part – how many points does Mike go for tomorrow? But that’s not all. I want to know how many points Mike scores – and how many fouls for Dove. The winner receives another prize from “my desk.” Zac won the last contest, and his prize is a glossy blown-up print (above) by the Eagle’s Travis Heying of Mike standing on the scorer’s table with his arms stretched towards the sky.
