R.I.P. Vanessa Stewart

Clent Stewart’s mother died this afternoon after a prolonged bout with bone cancer. Clent was with her the past couple of days in Tulsa.

He’s not sure if he’s going to play tomorrow night against Nebraska. The players will wear black circular patches bearing Mrs. Stewart’s initials (VS), while the coaches will have pink ribbons attached to the lapels of their suits.

Clent, I am really sorry for your loss! I just read the story about you and your mom in the KC Star a few weeks ago and it was really touching. From what I read, your mom was quite the wonderful lady and you were quite the son. I’m sure she was very, very proud of you. Our prayers are with you and I hope that you find peace through this tough time.

    Clent,

The Wildcat Nation grieves for you and your family during this time. You have been a rock to the KSU basketball program over the past four years much like your mother has been a rock in your life. Rest in the knowledge that she is in a place now where her pain is no more. Our prayers are with you.

I want to loan you my heart, because I can’t even begin to fathom the pain that you are in. Find comfort in that your mother is in a better place now, and the pain will never haunt her again. Stay strong, as I know you will. My prayers are with you, Clent.

    Clent,
You’ve always been an exemplary guy that the KSU nation has been and can be proud of, both on and off the court–Though we can’t fully comprehend all that you must be going through, all of our hearts and prayers go out to you and your entire family.

The picture of Clint with his mom in this morning’s star showed a serene, beautiful woman. My heart goes out to Clint.

    Clent,

I read an article a couple of years ago in the KC Star. I hate to hear this news.

I feel your pain - My Boss and his family are going through the same pain you and your family have been enduring for the past few years. I pray your Mother is in a better place.

My prayers are with you and your family.

God bless you and your family.
