The word, according to Brandon Cox

The Auburn quarterback speaks. He seems like a nice kid, real polite. He’s a winner, 19-5 as a starter. He’s also comfortable being a "caretaker" of the offense, but more on that in Thursday’s Eagle.

I asked him what he thought when he heard "Kansas State." This was his response:

"The Big 12. It’s a strong conference, no different than the SEC. A good team."

I asked him what he thought about Josh Freeman, and being the "other" quarterback in Saturday’s game:

"I haven’t thought too much about their offense, but in talking to our guys, (K-State) has a real talented quarterback. … I’m OK with that."

And finally, I asked him what we could expect:

"They’re a talented team. We’re going to have to play a good game."

OK, nothing earth-shattering here, I know. But bear with me. I’m still trying to get into the swing of things…

I hope the folks down in Alabama see this. Their QB just confessed that the Big 12 is no different from the SEC. The truth hurts, but not as much as their loss to us will.

I hope the folks down in Alabama aren’t thouroughly captivated by a player’s BS comments in the way that many KSU fans are. The Big XII stinks. That’s what hurts.

Hey! I love your blog. I also love talking football with the guys. I laugh at all the dudes who say Josh Freeman should be a tight end. Be sure to check out my webpage!!!!!!

Iceberg, obviously Cox was just being conscientious of his rhetoric, not wanting to hand Prince any motivational locker- room wallpaper. I hope SEC fans do see this so they can appreciate Cox not only as a solid quarterback but as a top flight representative of Auburn football and the SEC. The truth, Ice, is that the SEC is different from the B12. The B12 is great, but it’s 2nd to the SEC, which is nothing to be ashamed of at all. KSU will need stellar performances from it’s D & Sp teams and to have 0 turnovers to win. That might be asking too much so early in the season. But if KSU does win, I hope that you, Ice, will be as good of a sport about it towards AU fans as Cox is to B12 fans about playing in the nation’s toughest conference. Love the blog, J-Mart. GO CATS!
