KU coach Turner Gill confirmed Tuesday that offensive lineman Jeff Spikes will miss this season because of a lower leg injury.
Spikes, a 6-foot-6, 325-pound junior, started all 13 games as a freshman in 2008 and 10 games last season, the first eight at right tackle before moving to right guard.
