Stay tuned, fans: My post will be late tonight

It is GMA (Gospel Music Association) Week here in Nashville and, wow, have I been busy … I’ll be presenting at the Dove Awards Thursday night, airing on the Gospel Music Channel. I will, of course, be rooting for one of my best friends, Chris Sligh, who is up for new artist of the year. Tonight I have a showcase/listening party for my upcoming CD, “Into the Light,” due out Aug. 25. Since I’ll be rocking out to my new music and unable to watch Idol live, I’ll be a few hours late in posting. Don’t worry … I’ll have it waiting for me on my DVR and I’ll watch and write as soon as I get home. Be sure to check back later tonight.

Good luck with your new album Phil, and good luck to Chris for New Artist of the Year in the GMA’s.

I really liked Chris in Season 6. I am so glad he is having success. Tell him your homeys in Wichita are rooting for him!

Glad to see that you agree with me that Lil can do no right as far as the judges were concerned. I’m not rooting for her to win but after she sang I put my fist up in the air and said *All Right!* and then listened to Randy and the rest of the judges read off their notes about how bad she is without ever pointing to any specific problem with her performance as if the producers had written their criticisms. She is the VFTW favorite for 2 weeks in a row and that has sealed her fate in terms of honest judgments.

I never understood how Kris got into the top 13 but after tonight I guess America knew better than me. I never thought an acoustic guitar and disco could work but it did.

    Adam is genius.

Allison disappointing again. She seems to have lost her spark. Maybe the stress is getting to her. Still not the worst. Although I think the judges may be wishing they hadn’t wasted their save on Matt tomorrow.

Throw Matt back. Cheesy song. Completely frantic. He cannot take the pressure.

Anoop did well but he has no charisma despite his new facial hair. Ironically…he is just to *white bread* for people to see him as a star.

Danny gave a brilliant performance reminiscent of Robert Wuhl’s classic performance of *Volare* in the movie Hollywood Knights. At times I could almost sing along with Danny. I’m sure Robert will be proud at this homage to his genius.

Bottom: Lil, enough already. Bless her heart, she just can’t seem to get it right. Anoop, he has a decent voice, but I just don’t think he can go on much longer. Matt, I’m glad they saved him last week. I don’t think he will win, but I think he deserves to stay longer than Lil and Anoop. Danny, well, he’s Danny. He has a very good voice, but IMO he just isn’t really all that entertaining. My top 3 are Allison, Kris, and Adam. Allison and Kris, because they both have the voice and originality to go far. Adam because, well because he’s Adam and he’s freaking awesome.
