Congrats to Jorge Nunez!

Tonight’s show started with a glimpse of a producer’s desire to be current. The final group of 12 smiled vigorously as they crooned Katy Perry’s “Hot ‘n’ Cold.” All this time I thought that it was the group SONG that made these performances so cheesy. You learn something new every day.

It was so clear that Lil Rounds and Scott MacIntyre would make it through to the finals that their victory announcements were made obviously anti-climatically. They knew that whoever won that coveted third seat would be a shock. It didn’t matter who it was.

My guess was that it would be between Felicia Barton, Von Smith, Ju’Not Joyner and Jorge Nunez. Because of personal connections, I was rooting for Felicia, but alas, Jorge is declared the victor.

I am very glad for him. This guy is an amazing artist. He has great control on his vocals and a fantastic sound. But now there are only three girls in the Top 12 so far and I can almost guarantee a wild-card spot for Anoop Desai, which would only leave two more spots even available for the girls. And given the level of talent that the guys brought to the table, I would be surprised to see either of those spots taken by girls. But I’m still rooting for Felicia.

So what do you think? Do you have any guesses at who will take those final two spots?

Why did they once again make the mistake of bringing Tatiana back????? She is a major whiner and attention seeker. I was sooooo hoping that Ju’Not or Kristin would make it. Both of them are way better.

Ok…I’m not sure how this wild card works. Do the judges pick the top 3 of the 8 wildcards tomorrow? I guess so since it is only an hour show.

I still don’t get Jorge. I really do not. I was rooting for Ju’not who is now going home along with Felicia Barton. They were robbed of a wild card chance by Jasmine Murray (so commercial so cute such a lousy singer) and Von Smith. As much as I loathe Tatiana I have to say she did better than Jasmine did in her first performance. So…I will say that Tatiana robbed Kristin McNamara (who I really don’t like) or the blonde country girl. Both sang as well as Tatiana did and are far more commercial. No one cares about Tatiana except the guys at Vote for the Worst! And what record producer wants to put up with her unprofessional drama?

I’m glad that Scott and Lil got through. Lil really botched her performance tonite but really I think its unfair to expect them to be spot on with all the emotion so I will forgive her for that. I just wish she would sing songs I like so that I can really decide how good she is.

Von Smith? He seems likeable enough but really he is a poor imitation of David Archuleta. I thought Archie was passe last year even though I thought he was a sweet kid. Someone who cannot even sing as well as Archie and is just as passe? Over Ju’not?

I’m pulling for Megan and Jesse tomorrow. My guess on who the judges will put through? Anoop, Tatiana, and Jasmine. The only one of those 3 that deserves it is Anoop.

ARRRGH! I hate this format. And Phil, I think you are saying we could do without the group numbers and I agree.

not sure if this link will work http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYCjk9hrnrQ

It is one American youth’s reaction to Von Smith and quite hilarious.

Monica, I agree with you about Tatiana. Why would they bring her back except to create some buzz about the show. I think she will drive away more viewers than she will bring in. And that ugly, striped dress she was wearing tonight! It was atrocious!!!

Sorry, but I couldn’t stand to listen to Jorge because the entire time I wondered how the poor guy got stuck with enough eyebrows for 3 people! It’s just distracting! Alas, I shall have to close my eyes whenever he hits the stage otherwise I shall never know what his voice shounds like. Or maybe since he’s in the top 12 one of the makeup artists will strap him down and tweeze him for a couple of hours?

I hope Megan gets a wildcard. And Jesse. They’re my favorites other than Anoop-and I only like him because I can giggle about calling him “Noop Dogg” which will probably be my favorite thing about this season.

So far this season doesn’t have much potential to keep my attention.

Oh, and one more thing, if Tatiana gets voted as a wildcard for this season I will stop watching until America votes her off. I can’t handle her strange, dramatic whining on. It’s actually worse than Jorge’s eyebrows.

They jumped the shark in bringing back Tatiana. I cannot stand her histronics. I’m not sure WHAT I think now. I’m just very thankful I have a DVR and can FF through her and all the other disappointing performances.

Tantiana!? Are you kidding me? And America picked Scott MacIntyre? No offense, but come on. Close your eyes and listen to him sing–he is not great.
Now, why weren’t all the contestants sitting on the couches? Where was Mishavonna? She was a fave of mine and she wasn’t even sitting there. I counted about 30 total people instead of 36. What gives?

This is a way messed up season. I think I was more shocked by Jasmine Murray who I think stunk up the house than I was by Tatiana. Felicia, Mishavonna, heck, even that Jackie Tohn or whatever her name is sung better than Jasmine and I do NOT see her commercial viability. And Kara basically told her what song to pick….Rihanna. And Von Smith? Even the tweens with the pink cell phones who you would think would be his audience didn’t vote hard enough to get him into the top 3.

Last night was SO predictable…..and disappointing. I am glad, however, that Anoop was picked for another try at it. Very disappointed that Ju’Not was skipped and that psycho Tatiana……OMG! I KNEW (and won a bet) that they would throw her in the Wild Card mix!

Agree with all of the above: Tatiana was amusing for about 3 minutes early in the season. Bringing her back for a bit more freakish melodrama is a sad reflection of the judges’ cynicism. To quote The Big Lebowski: This will not stand, man.

OK, I was seriously happy to see Meagan get a wild card, I thought she was just great, but really…. am I the only one actually ‘LISTENING’ to Scot? It is just painful…everyone here in my office and at home just doesn’t get it? While he does have some talent, his song was completely off key Tuesday night, he doesn’t have the chops for this competition. He sang just horrible and it’s like they didn’t even hear him. If Tatiana goes through I may have to stop watching for the first time in 8 years.

At this point, I can’t even comment. I’m aghast at how crappy the judges picks can be. It makes me wonder how much better American Idol could be if people with talent actually made it through the rounds rather than these BS “complete packages” that come through, such as Jasmine. I’m glad that Matt Gerard (spelling?) got another chance tonight, but I’m still shaking my head at Jasmine, Tatianna, and the other two weird girls who are interesting but sound like crap.

I echo most of the other comments already posted here. I was really glad to see them let Ricky Braddy try again. I liked him the first time. I was very very disappointed they didnt give Ju’not a wild card. I really felt like he had a lot to show us still. Some of those have pretty much peaked and I doubt we’ll see much better from them than what we’ve already seen. I can already tell I’m going to be channel surfing this season…just stop by now and then to see if its worth watching. Bummer….
