David Cook update

david_cook.jpgDavid Cook’s ailing brother, who’s suffering from brain cancer, apparently will be in the “Idol” audience this week.

The contestants will be choosing songs from Mariah Carey’s catalogue. Yuck.

I just watched David Cook’s performance which was simply amazing. He needs to win this competition. I don’t know how he is able to perform with the sadness and family stress he’s dealing with. Seeing his brother in the audience was so poignant. Was I the only one who teared up watching his family after the performance?

Well Hawkmama, with the exception of last week, every time David Cook has performed this season…including his very first performance…I have forgotten who went before. He just blows me away. I understand there was criticism for him not being as original as the judges claimed he was in his song interpretation but I don’t think he was trying to fool anyone. I think he is just so attuned to music that if he performs in a style similar to another musician everyone must have heard that too because he did. You know, I didn’t read Denise’s post before the performance so didn’t look for his family. I know he seemed particularly relieved tonite that his performance went well. I tried to vote for him but only got through one time…lines were busy the other times.

I’m going to make a predicition. Archie and David in the final two and the Cook fans are going to blow those little pink cell phones out of the water!

Or else, Archie will be the new Taylor Hicks and Jordan Sparks who no one cares about… David Cook will be someone this old woman will want to hear.

David Cook is awesome. He’s another Neil Diamond with his gruffy voice who will go to the top. I”ve always loved Neil Diamond. I could listen to David Cook all day. Good luck David. You have my vote. My prayers are with you’re brother.
