WICHITA — USD 259 may have eliminated driver’s education, but that doesn’t mean David Clark is going to stop teaching it.
“I’ve done it since 1993,” Clark says.
He and his wife, Lindsay, have started Wichita Driver Ed and are now enrolling students for classes.
Clark says teaching kids how to drive is something he truly enjoys.
Isn’t that a bit nerve-wracking?
“It can be,” Clark says.
He says it’s fun to watch them become better drivers.
“You can see their progress.”
Clark says he knows budget decisions are tough, but he disagreed with the district’s decision to cut the classes.
“All the driver’s ed instructors feel that’s a big mistake.
“Obviously, that’s what I’m passionate about, and I think it should be a high priority.”
