OneMain Financial changing South Seneca addresses to Tuscan Village

WICHITA — OneMain Financial, a consumer finance company that is part of New York-based Citigroup, is going to be more than doubling the size of its south Wichita branch.

The branch, which mainly does personal loans, has been at 2561 S. Seneca in the Westway Shopping Center since 1995. It has about 1,500 square feet there.

The new office, which opens next month, will be in 3,600 square feet at Tuscan Village at 1812 S. Seneca.

“It’s just a relocation to a new office because they needed more space,” says Mark Rodgers, director of public affairs for Citi, the consumer division of the company.

Scott Harper of Landmark Commercial Real Estate handled the deal.

D’Sozo is the new name for Sprouts and will open Jan. 25; Five Guys Burgers and Fries will follow in February

WICHITA — Larry and Susan Cook still plan to open a new healthy market and restaurant in their Tuscan Village at 1812 S. Seneca on Jan. 25.

Now, they have a new name to replace Sprouts, which is already trademarked elsewhere.

Larry Cook says they’ll call their business d’Sozo. It’s a made-up name, but the Sozo part is Greek in origin and means healing or improvement.

On the other end of the dining spectrum, Five Guys Burgers and Fries will open near 29th and Maize sometime in February.

“The earlier the better,” says franchisee Jeff Miller. “Keep your fingers crossed.”

Sprouts to open Jan. 25 with a new name

WICHITA — Developer Larry Cook says there is now a firm opening date for Sprouts, but when the store opens Jan. 25 it will have a new name.

Early this year, Cook and his wife, Susan, announced that they’re opening a market and restaurant in their Tuscan Village at 1812 S. Seneca.

The Cooks plan a lot of healthy, vegan dishes and products. And the Sprouts name is already on the building.

But one of several things causing the opening delay is the Sprouts name is already trademarked elsewhere.

Cook says he has a new name but won’t share it until it’s legally his.

“This time we figure we’ll trademark (it) so we don’t have a problem in the future,” he says.

He’s OK with having to change names.

“It’s just one of those things that happens,” Cook says. “Luckily, we didn’t have anything else printed.”

Sprouts still coming to Tuscan Village

WICHITA — Sprouts is still opening this summer in the new Tuscan Village at 1812 S. Seneca, but some people have driven past the site and wondered if there’s been a name change.

There hasn’t, though it may look that way. Inside the market and restaurant, it’s all one space. But outside, there are several signs along the exterior of the building indicating what’s inside. For instance, there’s a sign advertising things like nuts and bulk foods. Another says cafe vegetalien, which indicates that the cafe serves vegan food.

There’s no set opening date yet, but we’ll let you know when there is.
