Delano Antique Mall to expand with second building

WICHITA — After about four months in business, the Delano Antique Mall is expanding in Delano.

Owner Steve DeThample, who has had the 12,900-square-foot mall at 1642 W. Douglas since late October, is acquiring the 6,000-square-foot building next door at 1600 W. Douglas.

“It’s going to give me my parking I need . . . and dwindle my waiting list down,” DeThample says.

Currently, he has about 70 renters. The new space will allow for 50 more booths, 18 of which he’s already filled.

The new space will be ready in early April.

“We’re going to flip the name now that I’ve got two of them,” DeThample says of renaming the business Delano Antiques.

He expects the second building to be all the space he needs.

“Oh yeah,” DeThample says. “It’s more than enough, according to my wife.”
