Spectrum Venue to open in former Corporate Caterers of Wichita space near Douglas and West Street

WICHITA — A new business is going in the former Corporate Caterers of Wichita space near Douglas and West Street.

“We’re going to be renting it out, doing sort of the same thing that Corporate Caterers did,” says Graham Ryan.

He and Kenny Kieso are opening Spectrum Venue in the next few weeks.

There’s one key difference between it and Corporate Caterers, though.

Spectrum Venue will provide the space but not the food for events.

Ryan and Kieso do hope people who rent the space might use their other services, though. They have Potent Entertainment, which provides music, lighting and photography for parties, though Ryan says customers who rent space don’t have to use their services.

He says their work with Potent Entertainment is what gave them the idea to open a venue.

“We are just kind of looking to branch out a little bit.”

The 8,000-square-foot space, of which about 6,000 square feet is available for seating, can hold about 250 people.

“It was already pretty much ready to go,” Ryan says, “so we don’t have to put a whole lot into renovating it.”
