WICHITA — PrairieLand Partners, the company that sold American Bikes 4 You its new building, is making some changes of its own.
The McPherson-based John Deere dealership, which has nine stores in south-central Kansas, formed in 2008. Conrady Western, which bought Suburban Equipment and its building at 12345 E. Kellogg, and two other dealerships formed the company.
In 2009, PrairieLand moved from the East Kellogg store to 307 W. U.S. 54 in Andover.
Saturday is that store’s last day in business.
“We’re just rearranging some of our resources,” says PrairieLand CEO Doug Neufeld. “Our overhead was just a challenge there.”
Most of the store will consolidate into PrairieLand’s Wichita store at 2218 S. West St.
The company sold its Purina animal products line to the Williams Ace Hardware in Andover, but it’s moving its large ag products, farm equipment and turf products to West Street.
“We’re going to do it all out of one location,” Neufeld says.
The company also is reinvesting in its Winfield store, where it has added on a new service shop.
The changes, Neufeld says, are because he’s “trying to fine tune our business a little bit.”
