Plumbing Pros opens with two longtime Kime Plumbing plumbers

WICHITA — After three decades of working for their good friend, the late David Kime and his Kime Plumbing, Dave Davis and Bruce Anderson are now starting their own plumbing company.

plumbingKime died late last year, and Davis and Anderson considered a couple of options for continuing to work.

“We made the decision to just go ahead and start our own business,” says Davis’ wife, Carmen.

She and her husband have opened the Plumbing Pros at 1403 S. Osage for residential plumbing repair and remodeling.

“Dave and Bruce are going to continue on with their excellence in service,” Carmen Davis says. “They’re known as the guys to go to if nobody else can figure out how to repair something.”

She says it will be a process of getting the word out that the men are still in business.

“People are going to have to find us again,” Carmen Davis says. “Once people realize where we are and what we’re doing, that will obviously help.”

WICHITA — Several years ago, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing owner Richard Tade was driving down East Kellogg when he spotted a “for sale” sign at Kellogg and Erie.

“Our whole objective was for the exposure of the location,” Tade says.

“I’ve been trying to build this building for about four or five years.”

He almost did it in late 2006.

“I realized that was just too much of a burden to put on the company,” he says of financing the deal.

So he started allocating money for when the time came to build.

“And that time came.”
