T-Mobile to add 75 call center jobs

WICHITA — The T-Mobile call center in Wichita is hiring.

T-Mobile doesn’t have as many jobs to offer as Convergys announced earlier today, but they’re permanent ones.

The call center at 2525 N. Woodlawn is looking for 75 new customer service representatives. The positions pay $10.57 to $12.50 an hour.

The company is taking applications at www.tmobile.jobs.

Convergys to hire 750 full-time seasonal workers

WICHITA — Convergys is looking to hire 750 full-time seasonal workers at its Wichita call center.

The center takes inbound calls for a major, but unnamed, health care provider. The center’s employees answer questions about health care plan enrollment and operation.

The center is at 7236 E. Harry in the former Spiegel call center.

According to Convergys, the new employees will offer customer service and sales support until early 2011. About 25 of the jobs will require that workers are bilingual.

The company has four weeks of paid training.

Catalyst Marketing is gone from the former Poet Ethanol building

WICHITA — It was July when entrepreneur Tom Smith announced he was starting Catalyst Marketing, a call center he opened in the former Poet Ethanol building at 37th and Webb.

At the time, Smith said he hoped he would quickly outgrow the space.

Instead, he’s now moved out because it was too much space.

“The cost of keeping the center open at that larger scale wasn’t feasible,” Smith says. “The business didn’t come on as fast and the capitalization of the business ran out, and so I just incorporated Catalyst back into my other two companies for the time being.”
