Earlier this week, Have You Heard? quoted one customer who called the Plano-based chain and was told she’d have to spend her cards in Texas.
“I said, ‘Well for god’s sakes, I don’t live in Texas.’”
She apparently reached the wrong person, because the company is reimbursing diners who didn’t have a chance to use their cards.
There are a few ways to do it.
Cardholders can e-mail the company at email@example.com, and an e-mail will immediately bounce back with a form they can complete for a reimbursement. Or, they can call the company at 888-626-6636. Or, customers can simply hit the “contact us” bar at the bottom of the home page on the Furr’s website.
Since late last week, no one with Furr’s returned calls to explain whether the cards are refundable, but Wichitan Gary Hime somehow reached the person who handles the refunds.
“I called this wonderful lady in Plano, and they are going to send me a check for my gift card, and I wanted to let you and your readers know that,” Hime says. “We don’t have to travel all the way to Texas to get them.”
