Hutton Development planning patio homes near 21st and 127th

WICHITA — Residential developer Hutton Development is preparing to get started on its next development.

The company, a division of Hutton Construction that formed about a year ago, is going to build patio homes on almost 13 acres near the northeast corner of 21st and 127th.

“We’re in very early stages of putting this together,” vice president and general manager Trent Banister says. “Our intent is to develop that parcel into luxury patio homes.”

Tim Buchanan, CEO of Legend Senior Living, sold the land to Hutton Development. Buchanan has about 13 acres left on the corner. The land is zoned for limited commercial use and is for sale.

Banister says homes will be priced similarly to the Hawthorne development in that area. Homes will begin at $400,000.

It’s not clear how many homes there will be yet.

“We’re still trying to figure that out,” Banister says.

The property has caught people’s attention because of some fresh dirt there.

“That was just some dirt we had left over from a nearby project,” Banister says.

Hutton Development is doing another development, Frontgate, on Central between 127th and Greenwich. That’s where the dirt came from.

“Those are patio homes as well,” Banister says.

There are 38 home sites there that range between $250,000 and $500,000.

Banister says the development at 21st and 127th doesn’t have a name yet. He expects to share that and more details on the project soon.

“We’re still in the final stages of planning.”
