Donut Time Daylight Donuts to open near southwest corner of 21st and Woodlawn

WICHITA — Park City Daylight Donut franchisees Crystal and Tony Koehn are preparing to open their second location, this time in Wichita.

The Koehns will open Donut Time Daylight Donuts by late next week near the southwest corner of 21st and Woodlawn in the same strip center where Da’ Cajun Shak is.

“Doughnut shops seem to do very well in that type of environment,” Crystal Koehn says of strip centers.

She says she thinks morning traffic will be especially good in that area.

The business will be in almost 1,500 square feet and have seating for 15. It will offer doughnuts, biscuits and gravy, sausage rolls and sweet rolls seven days a week.

Initially, everything will be cooked at the Koehns’ Park City business, Pastry Place, and transported to Donut Time. Eventually, it will have a kitchen as well.

Pastry Place opened 18 months ago.

Whether the Koehns open any more of the franchises after this one is open for debate.

“Ohhh, maybe,” Crystal Koehn says. “My husband has a bigger vision than I do.”
