WICHITA — The almost 1-year-old Palim’s animal print furniture and accessory shop in Delano is going to soon have an unusual addition: A salon.
Owner Patty Womack’s daughter, Jenny Burns, is going to open the business within the shop at 919 W. Second St., which is across from Ty’s Diner.
“I gave up my storage room,” Womack says.
Burns has been doing hair for almost 20 years but recently took some time off. Now that she’s decided to reopen, Womack says her daughter decided she didn’t want to do a booth rental any longer.
Womack isn’t sure when the salon will open.
“There’s so many requirements you’ve got to meet before they can come in and inspect it.”
Womack doesn’t mind sacrificing her storage space because customers coming in for hair styling also will see what she has for sale.
“They’re going to have to come through the store,” Womack says. “That’s another plus.”
