WICHITA — There’s blissful news for denizens of Old Town.
The shop will locate between Larkspur and Wasabi.
“We were eating lunch at Wasabi one day, and my husband was like, ‘Let’s go take a walk,’” Angie Vasquez says.
They saw that a space next door along with a loft above it were available.
“Basically, that was the selling point for us,” Angie Vasquez says. “We can have a business and a family all at one place.”
The couple has two toddlers and a 19-year-old, Johnny Jalali.
“My 19-year-old is kind of like a baking prodigy,” Angie Vasquez says.
Bliss-fullness has cupcakes, cakes and pastries, such as croissants, which are made fresh daily.
“We are definitely going to go up on the pastries,” Angie Vasquez says.
She was in a car accident this week and has had to close her west-side shop except for bridal consultations until the new one opens.
The new space is about 1,100 square feet and will have seating, though Vasquez is not sure how much yet.
“It’ll be a nice, cozy place for couples or friends to come meet before they go out in Old Town, or come by for coffee and dessert,” she says.
“We wanted to be kind of like a romantic-type place,” Vasquez says. “Like a nice date place. That’s how we’re going to have the decor.”
In fact, she’d like to be open by Valentine’s Day.
“I certainly hope so, but it all depends on how the construction goes.”
