Cathy Lauer’s CR Designs joins REB Boutique in time for its second anniversary

WICHITA — REB Boutique is celebrating the second anniversary of its location at 5333 E. Kellogg with an open house Friday, which also is when interior designer Cathy Lauer is having the grand opening of her new space there.

Lauer, who has been in the business for 17 years, has CR Designs. Her business has been in west-side space that has a lot of stairs, which she says isn’t ideal.

“This is more centrally located, and there’s no stairs,” Lauer says of the REB space. “It’s a great fit.”

In addition to having a sample room for fabric, trim and hardware, Lauer says she’ll also have inventory such as chairs, tables and rugs so customers can see the quality of the pieces she can bring to their homes or offices.

Cindy Kemp’s C K Salon also is still at REB, as is Cathy Stevens’ Timeless New art business. Stevens also does nails there.

REB owner Glenda Sue Morris says her event room at the boutique also is taking off.

“I just booked my first wedding,” she says. “I’m so excited.”

Morris says her husband, A J Morris Jr., also now has a scanning device at the store that can noninvasively measure antioxidant levels.

Glenda Sue Morris says the device helps people know whether their diets and supplements work.

She says the machine is amazing, as is the metamorphosis of her store over the last couple of years.

“The whole place is really transformed,” Morris says. “You’ve got to see it to believe it.”
