WICHITA — At long last, the Pour Haus Restaurant & Tavern near the southeast corner of Maple and Seneca is getting close to opening.
Vaughn Smith has been working on the business since summer.
Why the delay?
“A lot of work,” he says. “We totally gutted the place.”
The building most recently has been home to the Biggest Cheese Pizza.
“We’re going to be known as a craft beer place,” Smith says.
Initially, he says he’ll have 31 beers on tap and another 30 in bottles. Almost everything will be craft beer except for a few domestic beers, such as Bud Light.
Almost all of the dishes at Pour Haus “will have beer or liquor of some type infused in them,” Smith says.
For instance, most of the hamburgers will be made with beer, and the steaks will be marinated in a bourbon-and-beer blend.
The restaurant and bar’s hours will be 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Smith hopes to have the Pour Haus open by March 1.
