WICHITA — Mid-America TV & Appliance owner Chris Hecox is opening his second store, this time in Delano in the former Shoe Warehouse space at Douglas and Seneca.
“I’ve always been a fan of Delano,” Hecox says.
He opened his first store in 2006 at 2822 E. 31st St.
Hecox likes that Douglas and Seneca is such a busy intersection and his sign will be seen by so many potential customers.
He also likes the area for its walkabilty.
“Nowhere else in Wichita can you do that,” he says of shopping along the street with ease.
Mid-America sells washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers and televisions.
“Our service side has taken off quite a bit more, too,” Hecox says.
For now, he’s renting the almost 8,000-square-foot space, but he hopes to buy it.
Hecox also hopes to open two more Wichita stores, including another one by the end of this year.
The Delano Mid-America opens Saturday.
