“We don’t control who tours when but we’re working on providing as many options as we can so we have something for everybody. Keep watching!”

I’m trying to believe. I keep thinking it is a matter of getting less popular acts booked first or trying to appeal to the “common folk.” But now I’m starting to think they may not realize we are all not racist, abortion-protesting, cowboy-wannabe bible-thumpers. I’ll keep waiting for a decent booking – I believe.

It’s articles like this that scare me:

    http://americancity.org/magazine/article/unconventional-thinking/

“It is still a buyer’s market for convention center space, and the extra space under development will exacerbate this.”
    and
“There are a lot more convention centers chasing a relatively fixed volume of events.”

I hate to be pessimistic (it’s not like we can return the thing for a refund), but I’m sure not going to complain about whatever acts they *can* get.

And I’m assuming business will pick up a little once the place proves itself. If I was a big act, I’d want to make sure I was going to places that had the bugs worked out. You gotta figure there’s enough chaos involved in touring even at experienced venues.
