Caring Hearts of Wichita and Loving Hearts Home Care to move to Market Centre

WICHITA — Market Centre at First and Market has another new tenant.

Caring Hearts of Wichita and its sister company, Loving Hearts Home Care, are moving into 3,100 square feet.

The companies currently are at 3595 N. Webb.

Brenda Carver, who owns the businesses with Joyce Basinger, says Caring Hearts offers nursing, home health aids and physical, occupational and speech therapy.

Loving Hearts has a variety of home care options, including house cleaning and shopping.

The businesses will be their new space by Sept. 28

Adam Clements of Grubb & Ellis/Martens Commercial Group handled the deal.

In addition to the current space, he says, “There’s going to be some possibilities of growth for them.”

Scotch & Sirloin celebrates 40 years and invites customers to share memories

menu1WICHITA — Scotch & Sirloin is celebrating its 40th year this year and is inviting customers to share memories at www.scotchandsirloin.net.

“That would be unbelievable,” says manager and co-owner Sonny Glennon.

“This has just been one of the coolest experiences of my life,” he says of being at the Scotch more than two decades.

“We’d like to have their opinion of what was the cool thing.”

The official celebration will be in September with several events and specials throughout the week of Sept. 14.

That will be just a couple of months shy of the restaurant’s 41st birthday.

It opened on Nov. 6, 1968, back when a KC Strip was $6 and a filet mignon was $4.50.

“We’re calling it the 40th anniversary, but we’re one year off,” Glennon says.

The celebration is still happening in the 40th year, though, and by having it in September instead of November, he says, “That gets us in ahead of the insanity” of the holiday season.

Krispy Kreme on West Central is closed

WICHITA — The Krispy Kreme at 8512 W. Central, which Have You Heard? reported in May was for lease, has closed.

“We just lost too much sales to keep being profitable,” says an employee at the east-side Krispy Kreme at Central and Rock.

That store isn’t in jeopardy of closing.

The employee, who didn’t give his name because he’s not authorized to speak for the company, says the west-side Krispy Kreme perhaps wasn’t far enough west.

“A lot of businesses have moved further west down Maize Road,” he says.

Nationally, he says, Krispy Kreme has a new concept where the chain sells its doughnuts in several small locations, which are all fed from one main store. He’s not sure if that will be the case here.
