Former Cibola owners are thinking about a new restaurant

Former Cibola owners Kevin Brown and Tracy Fahrbach are contemplating a new restaurant, but they’re only in the initial stages of thinking about it.

“I get calls every day (from) people wanting me to do something,” Brown says.

“We haven’t made any decision on anything right now,” he says. “We’re just not ready.”

Part of the reason is the economy.

“Anybody who does anything right now is nuts,” Brown says. “It’s still horrible right now. It’s not a good climate for new business.”

The other reason is Brown and Fahrbach aren’t sure what they want to do.

“We run the whole gamut,” Brown says.

That could mean doing something here or elsewhere.

“We’ve talked about Florida for years and years and years,” Brown says.
And that could be a more intimate concept or something larger along the lines of Cibola.

One thing’s for certain. A potential new restaurant will not be in the former Cibola space at Bradley Fair.

Cibola had some well-publicized tax troubles, and that restaurant’s finances aren’t entirely resolved. For instance, the furniture and equipment Brown and Fahrbach have a loan on are still in the building.

“I can’t tell you the whole story,” Brown says. “We’re not finished with that yet.”

For now, Brown and Fahrbach are in a holding pattern.

“It ain’t easy,” Brown says, “but we’re still living.”
