As the banks pay back this TARP money the government is making millions on the interest. I’m not sure how the auto industry will go though. I read the other day GM is setting up a schedule to start repaying sometime next year.

And every time a nation like China or Saudi Arabia commit’s a human rights violation we put it to Cuba. Now that makes sense huh? That should have been opened up years ago.

Drug cartels travel freely to and from Cuba and banana republics in Central and South America and other oppressive countries, too, so what’s your point? “Free” markets assume that the market is actually “free”. Do you really think the markets in the nations you listed are “free” markets? To make matters worse for American businesses, Liberals in control of Congress (and now the White House) have imposed additional taxes and fees and regulations and restrictions to further restrict our competitiveness against slave labor competitors. The countries you listed (and many others you missed) subsidize their own buyers and producers and levy taxes and penalties on U.S. imports. Like I said, one-way fares to Cuba are even cheaper than round-trip tickets. Grab one if you think it’s the “island paradise” that Jerry Moran apparently thinks it is. Adios!

opaobie, I knwo plenty of Wichitans who have been to Cuba in recent years. Many be you need to update your information. A number of Meth9dists have been there. Several members of a local chapter of The Friendship Force International organization. None had any problems onthier trips. The wo9rld is no longer afraid of the communism your retro candidate is. I know this shock s you , but manyof us more educatedtypes, who will voite for Moran inth primary, understand we need to stop limiting potential buyers of our goods because their governments are different than ours. I though Todd supported Free Markets. I guess only free markets with governments exactly like ours> Sure is limiting Kansas business if that is his criteria. For God;s sake, if he wants that then we need to stop trade with China, Vietnam, much of the middle east, etc. It is time for you and Todd to join the 21st century.

Todd will be proffering up bills up the wazoo over the next several months in the hopes of buying Kansans votes because she wants the Senate position in the worst way…In fact he will try to win it in the worst way. And worse yet, the Wichita Eagle will be suckered into to giving him publicity every time. Perhaps you should wait until he actually gets a bill passed and then note it was co written by him, if you must , but right now, he has got you in the palms of his hands in terms fo giving him free publicity. You are implicitly siding with him each time you report this type of obvious political one-up-manship. After 16 years the less publicity he gets the better. Many of us are SICK of him!

Try to get a job at a bankrupt business. If you don't think the government is taking enough of YOUR money, you can always write a check to the U.S. Treasury for as much as you like....just DON'T make ME do it.
