Rep. Mike Pompeo will be making two public appearances in the next two days, at a summit meeting sponsored by a free-market think tank on Wednesday and at a Republican club on Thursday.
Pompeo, R-Wichita, will be one of the speakers at Kansas Policy Institute Economic Summit, 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Wichita State University Hughes Metropolitan Complex, 5015 East 29th Street North, Wichita. Pompeo is expected to speak on “the importance of small government and how the government must have a limited role in an open and competitive market.”
The congressman is also scheduled to speak at Thursday’s meeting of the Kansas Republican Assembly, beginning with a “meet-and-greet” at 6:30 p.m., at Mike’s Steakhouse, 2131 South Broadway, Wichita. Pompeo is expected to give an update on events in Washington and field questions from attendees.
Both events are free and open to the public. Attendees at the KRA meeting will be able to purchase food from the restaurant’s menu, but no purchase is required.
