TOPEKA — Here is the 71-52 vote Saturday by which the Kansas House approved a proposed $13.6 billion budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, one that protects public schools and social services from cuts but requires a tax increase to balance.
A “yes” vote was to pass the bill. A “no” vote was to reject it.
Of the 76 Republicans, 24 voted “yes,” 50 voted “no” and 2 did not vote.
Of the 49 Democrats, 47 voted “yes” and 2 voted “no.”
