The man Kansans wanted to send to face President Barack Obama in the general election last year will be in Wichita Monday morning to sign his new book, “A Simple Christmas” and the new paperback release of “Do the Right Thing.”
Mike Huckabee’s book signing is at 10:30 a.m. at Watermark Books & Cafe at the southwest corner of Douglas and Oliver. It’s the only Kansas stop on his 60-city tour. (See an interview with TIME magazine about his book tour.)
Huckabee is the former governor of Arkansas who has also been a pastor and is now a talk show host on Fox News Channel and ABC Radio Network.
Kansas was one of the eight states he captured in the 2008 presidential primaries. He took about 60 percent of the vote. He gave a roaring stump speech and played with his band in a hangar at Col. James Jabara Airport in February 2008 where he called himself a “Wal-Mart Republican” and signed hundreds of autographs after leaving the stage.

Kansas Welcomes the neocons! Palin and Huckabee, who is next? Beck or Limbaugh?
Welcome to Mike Huckabee!! I heard you speak at the airport in Wichita, last year, and I’d give ANYTHING for you to be the man in the White House right now. (You’re waaaaay more qualified than the current occupant.)
killerpizza: Typical liberal….assumptions abounding. Angry, hatefilled, bitter = libs. Try being a kind person. Your man is in the White House, so why the poison darts? Be nice. He wrote a book; YOU don’t have to buy it; YOU don’t have to go meet him. Go do your own thing and mind your own biz.
Hopefully, Bill Otto will show and team with the Huckster to share some great opposum recipes .
It’s a good thing for Preacher/Gov. Hucklebee that his current boss, Roger Ailes, wasn’t seriously considering a run for the Presidency.
Fortunately for America, Ailes said he couldn’t take the pay cut from his job as head of Fox “News”.
How awkward would that have been for Hucklebee to be competing for the rightwing loon fringe vote with his own boss……
“Hucklebee”? Really? Are you that illiterate, or is that just all you got? Dee dee dee.
Too bad he didn’t govern as a conservative…
At least he does not talk out of both side of his mouth he tells it like it is. Not all people from Arkansas are HICKS. Maybe obamacare could lean a few things like tell the truth from him. DKS
Why do we have to be cruel and insulting. Unless you really personally know someone how can you honestly speak against that person. From what I’ve observed, Mike Huckabee seems to be quite honest and sincere and I for one appreciate his character. I think he would have made a very responsible President even though any one man would have struggled to solve the problems we’ve been facing.
