Construction crews are expected to turn over the keys to Intrust Bank Arena just after midnight Friday night, assistant Sedgwick County manager Ron Holt told commissioners this morning.
SMG, which has the contract to manage the arena, will then take over.
The arena is “substantially complete,” meaning that most construction is finished and that only minor details, called “punch list” items, need attention.

Ahead of schedule and on budget, fancy that.

Such as?
You don’t need to worry about it mcs7584; they’ve got it covered!
good stuff…kind of pathetic this only gets a 62-word notice though
So for 2 months it sits empty…
Newsletter, read the 62 words, there is still a “punch list” to be finished up, plus vendors need time to move in, staff training, etc. If you buy a new house, are you finished when they hand you the keys, or do you have to move in? Now multiply that by about 100.
Punchlist as in…adding doornobs…shining the counter tops in the suites…cleaning up any stains….running the scoreboard….cleaning…dusting everything
wsushox1, don’t forget the flush party to test all the plumbing.
