Great the best ideas to keeping it open with no additional money from the public and now we get to look forward to bonds and public support for a private business.

The Kansas Coliseum is a great structure in a super location. I think our county commissioners have gone crazy. It has been self supporting for years and still has many good years of life in it. The structure is still in fine shape. The new arena, located in downtown Wichita, is doomed to be a traffic nightmare. The colliseum is just 10 minutes north with easy access and acres of parking. Why did Hartman build his new arena just across the street? I think this goes a little deeper than we’ve been told. Does any of this have to do with the fact that the Colliseum was doomed to become a casino before the citizens said NO? I think this needs to be investigated a lot more.

Hartman had the best idea to keep it with the tradition of livestock shows and whatever else has been going on there. Why’d they drop the plans?

Barnie it seemed like the some on the county was making there personal thoughts known before the process was complete and it was not a development plan asking for taxpayer money.

let the process finish and when the development want taxpayer money for there projects they should take the minimal risk as noted in the kansas.com comparisons last week.

acepilot, you have bumped your head. The Coliseum is a dump and is NOT a great location. Maybe for a dog and pony show. Did you see the the Garth Brooks concert(s), miles of backed-up traffic. The acres of parking? The arena has that too, and they have multiple access points, not just a north and south access point.

Hartman is a smart businessman. He knows that their is no hope for that dump.
