The Keith Olbermann/Lawrence Dumont parking lot controversy: Day 2

UPDATE: More than 36 hours have passed since MSNBC “Countdown” host Keith Olbermann besmirched the parking lot at Lawrence Dumont Stadium in a swipe at organizers of “tea party” protests.

The “Tea Party Express” bus is scheduled to make a stop in the parking lot Nov. 4.

In his Wednesday broadcast, Olbermann scoffed at the bus tour’s planned destinations, including this:

“Previous tea parties so successful they now have to hold them in such venues as Wichita’s Lawrence Dumont Stadium (pause) parking lot.”

Olbermann’s remark touched off a broad and heated debate here at Wichitopekington over the tea party movement and the role of cable news in American politics. Some excerpts:

– Are they really stopping in the parking lot? Ha, I thought that at least in a conservative place like Wichita they could do a little better… like a mall or something.

– This is just one more “grasping at straws” in desperation by the left who is scared to death that the tea party movement is 1)speaking the truth and exposing the lies and abuses of the left and 2) is growing in popularity.

– Does anyone else see the irony of having a (tea party) gathering in the parking lot of the WING NUTS?! Home field advantage?

– Olbermann is a hack. He couldn’t cut it on ESPN, he had to join one of the junior networks to get a job.

– Will (Fox News commentator Glenn) Beck show up as host with his bottle of Vicks VapoRub that he uses for his cry baby segments? Always good for a laugh or two.

– Olbe-dude needs to lower the dose they’ve got him on. He keeps missing the finer details, like what about the Obama voter who left that dirty diaper on the asphalt? Guess that’s what they meant by “change.”

Meanwhile, the discarded diaper discovered in the Lawrence Dumont Stadium parking lot Thursday remained there this morning despite the presence of a large municipal work crew cutting grass and trimming trees nearby.

It also weathered overnight storms, although being rained on did not appear to improve it any.

And stop by our online survey to give your views on Olbermann and MSNBC, Glenn Beck and Fox News, and the city of Wichita’s apparent need for a diaper inspector.

Considering the Kansas winds yesterday, that diaper must be as full of it as the Tea Bag crowd. ;-)

Good job liberals, how about instead of sitting on your butts and wanting a webcam so you can watch a dirty diaper, go out there and clean it up! And all this time I thought the democratic party was the environmentally friendly party… pretty sad.

i like that this dude completley ignored the comments about how Olbermann wasn’t dissing the stadium or the parking lot, bedcause he wants to cause more controversy…its really rediculous.

all he was saying was: they are meeting in a ..parking lot…if they are so sucessful, why aren’t they meeting in the stadium where theres more room, and no diapers(well maybe not).

Olbermann hit on great points. I have decided to stop trying to defend liberal democrat views to republicans. We have the White House, Senate, and the house of representatives. In the next year, things will have turned around and republicans who decided to vote no to every bill, will have to explain their reasons why. I just laugh now, as republicans continue to make claims that they are winning. You WING NUTS are hilarious…..

Olbermann is trying to discredit the movement. One does not take the time to mention something, especially to discredit it, if they are not threatened by it. As far as the local event and where it will be held, the L-D parking lot is a lot larger than the front of the courthouse where others have been held. Larger venue, more anticipated attendees.

futurerep, I’ll bite. What exactly has the Democratically controlled government accomplished in the last 9 months that gives you so much glee? Reaping praise isn’t about what people are going to accomplish, it is about congratulating them for what they have accomplished. Of course, that little dose of reality doesn’t seem to apply to the Lefties. They like to slap each other on the back for having great ideas. Look no further than the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize for the proof. Owebama was nominated a mere 12 days after taking office? For having accomplished what? Righties congratulate each other for the things they have accomplished. Like tearing down long-standing cement walls dividing nations and peoples. Amazing Reagan was never even nominated for the Nobel considering all that he helped achieve on this 3rd rock from the sun.

“As far as the local event and where it will be held, the L-D parking lot is a lot larger than the front of the courthouse where others have been held. Larger venue, more anticipated attendees.”

Funny how Olbermann is making fun of a bus parking in a parking lot. Yes, Wichita does have a lot of supporters of the movement or at least a lot of people who share a lot of the same ideals as those who are organizing this Tea Bag Express bus tour. Having it in a larger parking lot makes sense.

That being said…The diaper is not worth focusing on, it’s just gross AND this story is no more newsworthy today than it was yesterday.

Don’t you find it interesting the White House would say Fox News is like a radio talk show, when MSNBC has a Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow ? They lay down and roll over for the Dems. I’ve never seen anyone carry so much water. You are right, Olberman was a flop at ESPN but, not that he is at MSNBC he has 3 or 4 viewers every night. What a bad joke he is !!!!

Thank you President Bush for keeping our Great Country safe from further terriorism for your last seven+years. I do not feel as safe now as I did when Obama took over in January. I fear that the time is coming that we will be living in a muslin nation under socialism if things don’t get turned around soon. For all you Olbermanites out there; If you desire the truth I suggest you switch to FOX. A lot of other people have done so. Fox has more watchers than ABC, CBS, NBC & MSNBC combined during O’Reily’s “The Factor” hour. Fox still asks the “hard” questions that make people have to tell the truth. Elections are coming next year and we will get enough conservatives elected to stop the Obama train. Just for the heck of it I would like for all you liberals to go out to the Tea Party just to see what it is all about. Go and listen. Don’t go to show your a** by interupting.

    …..and so it goes.

I cannot believe that adult people can act like such children. Democratic vs. Republican, or Republican vs. Democtric. BOTH “parties” are but the left and right “wings” of a vulture eating our country. Two heads of the same beast. Yes, “we” did “complain” about Bush, and we were called “conspiracy theorest” & “nut jobs.” “We” entered the political field supporting the likes of Ron Paul, only to have his message “discarded” by the main stream media. “We” didn’t go away and we are growing in numbers despite the “election.” The day is coming in this country, when you either support the constitution and defend it with every fiber of your being, OR, you are such a “relativest” that being a citizen of the United Nations is just okay for you. Whichever the case my be, if you continue to “understand” the concept of national politics in the terms of “left vs. right” or “right vs. left” YOU ARE PART OF THE “PROBLEM!”

Once again you teabag, conservative nut jobs conintued to justified the book titled “What’s the matter with Kansas”. I am not ashamed to say that I watched Keith Olberman every evening @ 7:00 on MSNBC to get real news. I also watch Chris Matthews @ 4:00, Ed Shultz @ 5:00, Keith, then Rachel Maddow. When the above news are on commerical, I will switched to Fox (I mean fixed news) to see what they are distorting on that day (and believe me that is all Fixed News do is distort their version of the news.)If, you nuts on the right looked at anything other than the Fixed News Station, then you would understand why the world hated this country under the criminals named Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice and the other convicted felonies of the Bush Admin. Have you nuts forgotten the 8 eights that this insane fool (Bush) occupied the White House! What he and his crooks did to our economy? How many innocent men and women died because of their lies about Iraq! How they turned all of their attention to a country that didn’t attack us (Irag) instead of sending our brave soliders to Afganistan. President Omaba and some of our Congressmen and women, and our representatives are doing the best they can to clean up the mess your heroes left. And, talk about double talke. Where were all of you right wing, nut bags during the Bush years. Hello somebody.

I think Queen 4849 has been smoking some bad weed. Relax Queen, this will only last for a short time and then we can get back to being good Americans again. I really appreciate Obama and Barney Frank working night and day, just for me. I sure sleep better now that the Fox is guarding the chicken house. But then, what could we expect from a Queen who spends so much time watching MSNBC. Matthews, who admits getting a tingling feeling down his leg whenever he sees Obama. I sure want him in my living room.

It appears to me that you have been the one not only smoking something, but digested it too. If, you can sleep better with Fox (fixed news) guarding the chicken house, then that says a lot about who you are (stupid). But, as I said before you sound just the book “What’s the matter with Kansas?) Maybe if you got your news other than FIXED you could expand your knowledge. But, that’s probably not possible since you obviously have your mind in the gutter talking stuff tingling down ya legs thinking about our President. Smile you STUPID.

We all need to pull together as Americans and turn this country around or we will all be in one heck of a mess. Just ask anyone who works in the aviation industry in Wichita. Our government is going crazy looking for more ways to waste the treasury, or what’s left of it. We need to turn to the Jesus and lobby our government representatives to do the same. The Democrats and the Republicans are destroying our future at breakneck speed.
