Former Cessna chairman and chief executive Russ W. Meyer, Jr., has been honored in Congress for his induction into the National Aviation Hall of Fame.
The resolution honoring Meyer, sponsored by Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Goddard, passed on a voice vote.
“Every community needs a Russ Meyer, and we are fortunate to have him in Wichita,” Tiahrt said. “The aircraft industry needed him, and Russ delivered. In fact, he is a big reason why Wichita is known as the aircraft capital of the world.”
Tiahrt also hailed Meyer for his work to improve the lives of underprivileged children in northeast Wichita.
