Wichita’s interim city manager may be Texas-bound

Wichita’s interim city manager, Scott Moore, is one of five finalist vying for the city manager post in Corpus Christi, Texas, according to a story in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times today.

Moore told Wichitopekington that he’s excited about the Corpus Christi job. But he said he has been on short lists elsewhere — a product of being in touch with head hunting firms that often conduct candidate searches for mid-sized and large cities.

This would be worth doing. Scott Moore’s a keeper. The more I interact with him, the more I like him. If we lose this guy, it’s time to start the recall petitions.

I can see no reason to not give him the job. He has had a tryout for the position which none of they other candidates will have.

If we don’t hire Moore now, how much more will we have to pay to get him the next time around?
