Calm and cautious is a professional approach to "storms". It is a good characterization of Flentje's style.

I thought that Flentje was the interim City Manager not a moderator. Mayor Brewer is going to drive the City into a financial nightmare. The Minnesota guys are breathing down his neck for more money and the Hillside project needs more taxpayers money. The City subsidize condos will not sell because of the financial subprime crisis. Murders are on the rise and unemployment is going up.

I am glad that I voted for change, but I didn't know that it was going to set the City back four years.

Agreed, Mr. C. The citizens should get to see and hear at least portions of the interviews and provide feedback to the council.

"Mayor Carl Brewer suggested that Skelton’s idea to have the council interview city manager candidates in an open forum would allow for too much “grandstanding.”
And not doing so would allow for too much hanky panky.
