Taking it to the Streets

My workday started today at 6 a.m., hawking newspapers ’til mid-morning at 21st and Rock Road with a bunch of great people from Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Once a year, The Wichita Eagle sponsors "Taking it to the Streets", teaming up with local businesses and volunteers to sell newspapers to raise money for United Way. We had a blast out there today, and we raised more than $1,000 just at our intersection. Those Enterprise guys are fearless in traffic, I must say. And people in Wichita are so generous– one guy paid for his paper with a $50 bill and said, "Keep the change." That’s the spirit. Check tomorrow’s Eagle for more details.

    What a bunch of crap. You know that the real reason you were there was to count every paper as paid circulation for your audited figures. Then you can try and convince the public that you are not slowing dying as a company and you can raise your advertising rates.

    NOTICE: The WE article on the “Immigrants” who live in a “Dual World” speaking Spanish and English was a sham story! Additionally, when the public and readers VENTED in the COMMENTS section there were 6 pages of comments mostly negative and complaining about the WE and their biased PRO ILLEGAL ALIEN stance and their position that ALL ILELGAL ALIENS are IMMIGRANTS (which not correct in immigration law). Collectively the Readership has called “BS” on the WE and demand that you stop reporting the illegal immigration stories through the viewpoint that it is OK.

    It was clear that the “free speech” championed by newspapers is ok until the partronage disagrees with the tilted and biased reporting of the so called “journalists” of HURST LAVIANA AND BRENT D. WISTROM. Hurst is a biased illegal alien lover and is practicing sedition by Kansas Statutes, and the WE when faced with ciriticism by the readers in the comments section, well they simply delete the comments and the section and allow no more discourse.

    It is not and the readers of the WE and the Kansas Citizens OVERWHELMINGLY against the illegal immigration policies and you know it.

    So much for an unbiased and objective fourth estate.

    Wow, lots of people see through the eagles bias against the american public.
    Maybe the eagle hires illegals and that is why anti illegal comments are not posted in opinion line?
    Yikes, are Americans finally tired of being over ran?
    How long can the eagle hide this?
