Two restaurant openings

Two more reasons to give thanks this Thanksgiving week: Wichita is getting two new restaurants.

A.V.I. Sea Bar & Chophouse, Ben Arnold’s and Adam Courtney’s new restaurant inside the Drury Plaza Broadview Hotel, is now officially open. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays. The restaurant’s bar will be open later. You can view the meaty, seafoody menu right here.

Also, La Fiesta Mexican restaurant opens Saturday in the former La Mesa space at 6960 W. 21st St. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Good news: My friend, Jaime, regularly dines at the La Fiesta in Wellington and says it is muy bueno.

New(ish) places to dine

While we were all busy shopping and prepping for Christmas, a few restaurants opened in Wichita that you might not know about.

One of them is La Fiesta, a Mexican restaurant that opened about a month ago in the former El Rancho space at 4722 S. Broadway. La Fiesta is part of a small regional chain that also has restaurants in Salina and McPherson, and specializes in dishes such as enchiladas suizas and one of my personal favorites, molcajetes, pictured above.

La Fiesta is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Call 316-440-3228 for more information.

Also just opened: Full Moon Pub and Grub, which opened recently in the former Yogi’s space at 2804 S. Seneca. It’s owned by Charlie Badeen and David Allan of Dudley’s Sports Bar and Grill, Mulligan’s Pub and O’Brien’s Irish Pub and is a sports bar serving a full menu of burgers, bar food and pizza.
