Cafe 402 inside the YMCA has a new owner.

The Hyatt, which opened the downtown YMCA’s grab-and-go Cafe 402 a year ago, pulled out in October.

As of this week, though, the cafe has a new owner and a new menu.

Jason Fisher, who has a long restaurant resume including a stint with Latour, is the new owner of Cafe 402. On Monday, he introduced a new menu that includes breakfast items plus lunch wraps, salads and a grilled three-cheese panini.

Fisher also has switched to locally-produced Prairie Fire coffee.

The cafe, which is open to the public as well as to YMCA members, will also include a carry-out counter with items such as hummus and chicken salad.

The cafe’s new hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays. It’ll be closed on Sundays.

Cafe 402 inside the YMCA opens next week

The new Hyatt-run Cafe 402 in the Downtown YMCA should open on Wednesday.

Cafe 402, the Hyatt-owned and operated grab-and-go restaurant inside the schmancy new downtown YMCA at 402 N. Market, will open next week — probably on Wednesday, Hyatt managers say.

The cafe will serve a variety of salads and sandwiches as well as items such as tabouleh, hummus and yogurt parfaits. There’s also a long list of coffee drinks.

It’ll be open not only to YMCA members but also to members of the public who want to dash in the cavernous lobby and grab some food.

The central YMCA, which opened on Monday, is the only YMCA in Wichita with a cafe. It’s one of very few in the country, too, said the Hyatt’s general manager Stephen Stewart.

Hours will be 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, call 316-264-9374.
