Downtown dwellers who love Asian food but don’t love venturing out to get it have a new option.
Bamboo Express, a fast-service restaurant owned by first time restaurateur Tina Yang, will deliver food within a two-mile radius. The restaurant opened several weeks ago in the former Taco Tico building at 929 N. Broadway. There’s also plenty of room for dine-in customers, and the space is clean and bright through otherwise unchanged from its Taco Tico days.
The restaurant serves standard Chinese dishes such as sweet General Tso chicken, sweet and sour pork, Kung Pao beef and shrimp and vegetables. It also has fried rice, lo mein, and egg drop and hot and sour soup. Entrees cost between $6.99 and $8.99.
Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays an Saturdays and 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays.
