One sandwich shop closes for good, another for remodeling

Sandwich fans in Wichita have had to do a little rerouting lately.

The Subway at 519 S. Broadway, which is the closest Subway for downtown workers, has been closed for several weeks for remodeling.

It’s scheduled to reopen in mid-February, a Subway employee said.

Also, west-siders may have noticed that the Mr. Goodcents at 10231 W. 21st St., near the intersection of 21st and Maize, is gone.

It closed a couple of months ago, and the space now has a MobileComm operating out of it.

Franchisee Jean Larson, who took over the franchise a couple of years ago, said that there was just too much competition in the area. Larson also runs the Mr. Goodcents at 4921 S. Broadway, and there are franchises at 1212 S. Tyler and 3411 N. Rock Road, too.
