First impression: Fizz Burgers & Bottles

Okay, so I don't do my best food photography at night. But this'll at least give you an idea of what the food at Fizz looks like. In the foreground, sweet potato fries with a quarter-pound spicy burger.

I got a chance last weekend to check out Fizz Burgers & Bottles, a new restaurant in the former Amici’s space at 37th and RockĀ  in Siena Plaza.

The experience was pretty good, and so were our burgers, which were very beefy and tasty and served with a generous side of thick-cut fries, either sweet potato or regular. Fizz also offers a variety of dipping sauces, from garlic aoli to spicy ketchup.

The place felt like it’d be a little more fun in the daytime. The dining room was a bit stark to make an evening meal feel very special. But with the aid of some bottles — wine for me, beer for my friend — we forgot about all that.

Service was good, and we got to try a couple of the restaurant’s playful desserts: CAKEBALLS! Yum.
