WBA followup: more useful links for lawyers

Since my talk Tuesday at the Wichita Bar Association, I’ve come across some more links that could prove useful to attorneys wanting to start blogs and use social media in their practices. All came, via Twitter.

Geri Dreiling of Legal Media Matters wrote about Four Quick-Start Twitter Tips for lawyers.

Dreiling also passed on a link to five critical errors people make when they start using social media for business.

Another Twitter friend, paralegal Lynne DeVenny then shared an interesting read detailing how an attorney used a blog to build her practice, much to her own surprise.

All of these appeared in the past couple of days — showing how frequently good content pops up via links shared on social media.

Links from the WBA luncheon

I had the opportunity to speak at the monthly Wichita Bar Association lunch today. I’m guessing it’s the last of the year and they ran out of speakers. But they wanted me to talk about my experiences using social media in my job covering courts and how attorneys and judges can use these sites. It’s similar to what I’ve spoken about at the American Bar Association National Meeting.

Below are some of the links we talked about.
