When Brian Guse pleaded guilty last month to a felony of promoting prostitution, he was looking at remaining out of jail on probation.
Just one problem: Guse’s second offense for selling women through escort ads

violated the probation he had received just months earlier in Wichita Municipal Court.
This week, Judge Bryce Abbott, revoked Guse’s probation and ordered him to remain in the Sedgwick County Jail to await his sentence on the felony case.
In December, Guse pleaded no contest to five prostitution related offenses. Abbott issued about $1,500 in fines and put Guse on probation. Not breaking the law was a condition of his probation.
On Feb. 10, Wichita police arrested Guse again after he tried to sell women for sex to an undercover officer.
Because it was Guse’s second offense, the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office could charge him with a felony. Guse, 30, is set for sentencing in that case Sept. 1 before Judge Clark Owens in district court.
Abbott will review Guse’s jail time after he’s sentenced on the state charges. Guse could spend up to a year behind bars.
