About the name: “Law is (sometimes based on) what the judge ate for breakfast.”
It’s a courthouse adage that refers to how judges make decisions, most often attributed to Jerome Frank (1889-1954), himself a judge for the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Most judges we know don’t make decisions based on whether they have omlettes or oatmeal. But we thought it made a catchy title for a blog devoted to news and bits from Wichita’s courts.
About the author: Ron Sylvester has covered courts and legal affairs for the Wichita Eagle since 2000. His past coverage has included the Carr Brothers’ murder trial, court confession of Dennis Rader as the BTK serial killer and other stories that give him, and his readers, nightmares.
