Nominations for the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce 2014 Small Business Awards are now open.
The Chamber announced Thursday that it was accepting nominations until Dec. 13 for the annual awards, which recognize the contributions of small businesses to the Wichita area community.
Nominations are the first step in a process that includes a number of other steps, including a reception at which nominees can feature their business and reviews and interviews by judges. The award winners are announced from a field of finalists at a luncheon in May.
To be eligible, nominees must be located in the Wichita area, be a Chamber member, have been in business at least three years and meet other criteria, which can be found at the Chamber website, wichitachamber.org
Two awards are given each year: one to a business with between one and 25 employees and one to a business with between 26 and 100 employees.
The winners in 2013 were Great Plains Communications and the Eric Fisher Academy.
