Allstate says Wichita drivers better than average

Wichita, along with four other Kansas cities, has been listed by Allstate Insurance Company as having relatively safe drivers.

The company released its eighth annual “Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report” Tuesday. It’s based on Allstate claims data and ranks the 200 largest cities in the United States in terms of car collision frequency to identify which cities have the safest drivers.

Wichita came in at the bottom of the Kansas pack, but ranked 42nd nationally. The other Kansas cities and their rankings are:

Olathe, 14;

Kansas City, Kan, 21;

Overland Park, 29;

Topeka, 37;

According to a news release from Allstate, Wichita’s ranking means we’re about 5 percent less likely than drivers nationally to be involved in a traffic accident.
