KWCH TV was named one of four Stations of the Year in the annual Kansas Association of Broadcasters contest.
In a news release, KAB officials said winners would be recognized at an Oct. 22 event in Wichita.
KWCH, a CBS affiliate, was the winner in the “large market” division. Station of the Year winners are determined by points awarded for placing or winning various categories in the KAB contest, the release said. Categories cover such things as commercial production, public service and station promotion announcements; public affairs programming; news and sportscasts; and in-depth reporting.
The Kansas Association of Broadcasters includes TV and radio, and the group’s contest includes four market-size divisions for TV and three for radio.
